14 Days Manasul Circuit Trek

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (710m)

The journey begins with a long but scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola. You’ll pass through beautiful countryside, rivers, and rural villages. The road is bumpy in parts, but the views of terraced fields and mountains are rewarding. Overnight at a teahouse.

Day 2: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (900m)

  • Duration: 6–7 hours

  • Walk through lush sal forests, cross suspension bridges, and pass small Gurung villages

  • Follow the Budi Gandaki River through narrow valleys

Day 3: Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (1410m)
This day’s trail features steep climbs, hot springs at Tatopani, and beautiful ridge paths. You’ll cross several suspension bridges and reach Jagat, the official entry point of the Manaslu Conservation Area. The village is charming with stone houses and narrow lanes.

 

Day 4: Trek from Jagat to Deng (1800m)

  • Duration: 6–7 hours

  • Pass through villages like Salleri and Philim

  • Trail winds through dense forests and river crossings

  • Deng is a small but culturally rich Tibetan-influenced village

Day 5: Trek from Deng to Namrung (2630m)
A beautiful trekking day through lush forest, narrow gorges, and small settlements. The Tibetan culture starts to appear more clearly as you ascend. After a steady climb, reach Namrung village, a key checkpoint with panoramic mountain views.

Day 6: Trek from Namrung to Lho (3180m)

  • Duration: 4–5 hours

  • Pass Mani walls, prayer flags, and Tibetan-style houses

  • Excellent views of Mt. Manaslu and surrounding peaks

  • Lho is a peaceful village with a large monastery and friendly locals

Day 7: Trek from Lho to Samagaon (3530m)
The trail leads you through alpine forests and into the wide valley of Samagaon. You’ll get amazing views of Mt. Manaslu, and visit Ribung Gompa en route. Samagaon is one of the largest villages in the region and a base for acclimatization.

Day 8: Acclimatization Day in Samagaon
Take a rest day to adapt to the altitude. You can explore local culture or take a hike to Manaslu Base Camp (4400m) or Pungyen Gompa for more breathtaking views. This is also a great opportunity to recharge for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 9: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo (3860m)

  • Duration: 4–5 hours

  • Gradual uphill walk through yak pastures and mani walls

  • Samdo is a Tibetan refugee village just a day away from the Tibetan border

  • Stunning Himalayan panoramas

Day 10: Acclimatization Day in Samdo
Another important rest day. A short hike to the nearby viewpoint or border ridge helps with acclimatization and offers striking mountain views. Prepare for the pass crossing next day.

Day 11: Trek from Samdo to Dharmasala (4460m)

  • Duration: 4–5 hours

  • Walk through dry, open terrain with fantastic views

  • Dharmasala (also called Larkya Phedi) is a basic high-altitude shelter used before crossing the Larkya Pass

Day 12: Cross Larkya La Pass (5106m) and Trek to Bimthang (3720m)
This is the most challenging day of the trek. Begin before dawn to cross the high Larkya La Pass. At the top, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Himlung, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. Descend steeply to reach the beautiful valley of Bimthang.

Day 13: Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani (1860m)

  • Duration: 6–7 hours

  • Descend through alpine forests, rhododendron groves, and clear streams

  • Reconnect with the Annapurna Circuit route as you reach Dharapani

  • Overnight in a teahouse

Day 14: Drive from Dharapani to Kathmandu
Drive back via Besi Sahar, transitioning from mountain trails to highway roads. The ride takes 8–9 hours, and you’ll reach Kathmandu by evening. Your Manaslu adventure officially ends here.
